Editor's Review:
This is one movie that really appeals to all that is romantic in me. The famous intimate scene between the leading pair where they make pottery seem such a romantic thing for a couple to do together always drives me where it has to. Some movies are so well made that despite their inherent illogic we are willing to suspend disbelief and get in the mood of it and enjoy it. This movie is one such. The romanticism of a lover coming back from the dead coz of the strong love connection is every man/woman’s fantasy I suppose. This movie gives us a taste of how things would be. The part where Moore dances with a dead Swayze through Whoopi might have been funny if it wasn’t very romantic. We also see the presence of good and evil. The representation of both was ofcourse definitely cliché what with the black runny things coming up from somewhere down below and taking away the evil man. Swayze goes off into the light before which he metamorphoses into an ethereal glowing self. All funny if we were to analyse it…but if you are a true romantic don’t do it and you will have the pleasure of having watched one of the best romantic movies made by Hollywood.
